The Discovery Lab is TCM’s temporary “test” museum. Functioning as a large-scale prototype for the permanent museum, Discovery Lab’s mission is to inspire children, connect families and build community through exploration, exhibits, programming and play.
Working closely with the museum’s team in Tulsa, energetic spaces were designed that incorporated repurposed and recycled materials. This is a place where ordinary things become extraordinary; visitors are inspired to build, experiment, prototype, create and collaborate. The Tape and Tunnels exhibition exemplifies the unique environment. Filling the main hall, soaring constructions of cardboard and organic tunnels of packing tape defy imagination and beckon participation.
