On World Oceans Day each year, adidas X Parley hosts a global event across 15 major cities to raise funds for the Parley Ocean School’s youth education programs. The 5k run culminates with an after-run event that’s half conservation awareness, half concert.
For the event, we transformed an empty parking lot on Brooklyn's waterfront, at Domino Park, incorporating a variety of interactive elements: information and try-on booths, education centers, a maker lab, and Parley Ocean School. The stage, F & B, and lounge areas—where the runners could rest and recharge—were defined by a life-size wooden wave structure and a boardwalk, while lounge areas were outfitted with fabric shade structures and plenty of sand.
