Hovercraft asked me to jump in and help their team on a quick turn project creating environments for Nike's exclusive "The Next Ones" event, where top high school athletes take part in special events during Super Bowl LVIII week. We sped through many rounds of concepts, at a break-neck pace, producing a welcome experience that celebrated each arriving athlete with oversized personalized pennants. For the stage design, we studied multiple configurations of vibrant, oversized speakers, and highlighted the signature bubble forms of the Nike Airmax shoe. Max, the Airmax alien came to life as a giant inflatable; he was brought into SketchUp and placed at various locations to ensure maximum impact; he eventually found a comfy spot reclining next to the student section of the Bishop Gorman bleachers.
