Timbuk2 was in need of a unique identity and distinct brand experience for their consumers at retail. The resulting design would be summarized in a guide outlining branded shop standards for use at their San Francisco flagship store, and by architects building licensee stores internationally.
The first step was to study and assess Timbuk2’s existing presentation at retail. Then, a shop concept was developed that reflected the brand’s strong urban heritage, inclusive of an intuitive and effective communication hierarchy, high capacity fixture and wall display systems. The next step was to set specific global standards for store presentations & merchandising. Supporting documentation to facilitate accurate implementation of the design was created that included process planning, layout options, communication & branding specs, as well as environmental, fixture & materials details.
