Big-Giant, a Portland creative studio, required some extra design-power for a quick-turn project designing a premium hospitality space in Beijing for athletes competing at the IAAF Track & Field World Championships. I stepped in to model the event building, and then continued on to explore several iterations of the environmental design, which included space planning of the main lobby, restaurant and meeting rooms, lighting and furniture design, circulation studies, and event check-in/queuing considerations. Energetic hues, combined with neutral black and white backdrops, suspended lighting elements, and custom seating installations transformed the space for the event.
