OHS needed a way to orient visitors in order to aid their exploration of the museum, while establishing the Oregon Historical Society as a modern, sophisticated and relevant organization. Bringing awareness to the varied resources OHS offers, such as the on-site research library was also key.
Because it had recently undergone a renovation, it was necessary to leverage existing finishes, adding key, impactful elements that would transform the existing pavilion without an extensive overhaul. Bold, integrated wayfinding directs visitors from the Pavilion, deeper into OHS.
Projection was employed to create a modern and interactive, technology-enabled space, while screen-based interfaces showcase historical content and allow staff to keep the content fresh.
